My interview on the Selling the Couch Podcast
I was just a Featured Guest on the Selling the Couch podcast, which is a podcast that helps aspiring and current mental health private practitioners grow their impact + income in and beyond the therapy room.
The podcast is rated one of the Top 100 Business and Top 30 Career podcasts on Apple Podcasts, and featured in Psychology Today, Psych Central, and Good Therapy, and has been downloaded over 2 million times.
I am so excited about my recent interview with Dr. Melvin Varghese, Ph.D., the founder and host of the Selling the Couch podcast. It's the first time I was interviewed on a podcast and I was super nervous to be the featured guest, but Melvin made me feel very comfortable. I'm part of an online course mastermind that Melvin runs, which you can explore at www.sellingthecouch.com/mastermind. He's an authentic man of real integrity that endeavors to put lots of good out in the world. Those are all of the qualities I admire in people.
As you can imagine, creating an online course, and one as robust as the Erectile Dysfunction Masterclass was incredibly complex, time consuming and challenging. I've logged well over 2,000 hours researching and creating the course. Not only did I need to research the latest data on erectile dysfunction, but I had to learn all of the technology and marketing to build and create visibility for the course. Geez, it was a lot of work. The phrase, "If you build it, they will come" is NOT true for online courses. It's more like, "If you build it and market it repeatedly in all of the right ways, they might come." But don't hold your breath ... do more marketing!
I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I believe in being competent so I built a course with LOTS of information about erection problems. I pulled out all of the stops and delivered all of my knowledge and the interventions that have been proven to help my clients. My fear is that all of this information could be potentially overwhelming to someone. So the podcast with Melvin was especially helpful because he coached me through figuring out how much content is enough and how much is too much. I will use the information to revise the course in the future.
